Checkpoint 1 · Enroll with Stallion

Every Enroll button on this site opens our secure enrollment page. There you create the student account and pay the $49.95 fee once for the full 30-hour course and the certificate. Enter accurate student and mailing information: the mailing address on the account is where the DL 400C is sent.

Checkpoint 2 · Complete the course online

Work through the 30-hour course at your own pace, on a phone or computer. Progress is saved in the student account every time you log out, and the final test allows unlimited retries. A login or playback problem → text (530) 630-9998 with the account email and what you saw.

Checkpoint 3 · Receive the physical DL 400C

After the student finishes, the official California DL 400C Certificate of Completion is mailed by USPS to the address on the account. There is no emailed or downloadable version. Delivery time varies. Certificate status questions go to Stallion.

Checkpoint 4 · Apply for the learner permit

The DL 400C from this course is the certificate the California DMV asks for, so the student arrives with the right paperwork. Bring the original DL 400C and the documents listed on California DMV's current learner-permit page. The DMV administers its own vision and knowledge tests and decides whether to issue the permit.
