Teens in Beverly Hills take the same 30-hour online driver education course as everywhere in California, then the permit test at a DMV office. The nearest DMV field office is the Hollywood office at 803 Cole Avenue, Hollywood, 4.3 to 5.0 miles in a straight line from Beverly Hills's public high schools.

Learning to drive in Beverly Hills: subway work along Wilshire Boulevard
The Metro D Line subway is being extended through Beverly Hills (D Line Project (opens in a new tab)). Its two stations in the city are Wilshire/La Cienega and Beverly Drive. The Wilshire/La Cienega station is already open to riders. The next section, from Wilshire/La Cienega to Century City, is under construction. That section is scheduled for completion in spring 2027. Near work zones, lanes can shift or narrow, so slow down, follow the cones and watch for workers.
Beverly Hills adopted a Complete Streets Plan in April 2021 (related mobility projects (opens in a new tab)). Its high-priority projects add new and better crosswalks, bikeways and bus shelters that connect to the two subway stations. One of them is called Connect Beverly Hills. The city is also drafting new sidewalk designs for Wilshire and La Cienega boulevards. As more people walk to the stations, yield at every crosswalk and look twice before turning.
