Where do Culver City teens take the permit and drive tests?

The DMV lists the Inglewood office as closed every day of the week (checked 2026-10-05), so it is not in this table. These offices are closed on weekends and open at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays. Book an appointment on the DMV appointments page (opens in a new tab), and arrive well before 4:30 p.m.: knowledge tests are not given after that. What to bring is on our permit visit checklist.

Learning to drive in Culver City: shared bus and bike lanes downtown

Downtown Culver City has shared bus and bike lanes on its main corridor (MOVE Culver City (opens in a new tab)). Stopping or standing in these lanes is never allowed, and police patrol the area. Since early 2025, cameras mounted on buses have helped ticket cars parked in the lanes. Work on the eastern segment was substantially complete on May 22, 2026, carrying the lanes to Washington Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Never stop in a shared lane to drop someone off, and check it for bikes before any right turn.

Several intersections on Culver and Washington boulevards also have bicycle signals (Biking in Culver City (opens in a new tab)). When the bike light is green, cyclists get their own protected phase. When it turns red, cars turning across the bike path may move. The 7-mile Ballona Creek Bike Path also runs through town to the ocean, so riders often cross streets to reach it. Read every signal head at these corners, and look over your shoulder for bikes before you turn.
