Learning to drive in Diamond Bar: the SR-57/60 confluence and a new Diamond Bar Boulevard

Diamond Bar sits where SR-57 and SR-60 share a stretch of freeway known as the confluence. The city's project page (opens in a new tab) says it was ranked the worst truck bottleneck in California in 2020. SR-60 alone moves 43% of freight goods in and out of the Greater Los Angeles Basin. The interchange rebuild is in its third phase, scheduled to finish in July 2028. Around big rigs, stay out of their blind spots and never slip in tight in front of one.

On the city's main street, the Diamond Bar Boulevard Complete Street Project (opens in a new tab) runs from Palomino Drive to Golden Springs Drive. Construction began in late February 2026 and is expected to wrap up by March 2027. Since mid-August, crews have closed up to two lanes in each direction at times. One lane stays open each way for through traffic. Crews work weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Allow extra time, and merge early when a lane-closed sign appears.
