Learning to drive in Ontario: I-10 bridge work and downtown crosswalks

Interstate 10 crosses Ontario, and its bridges are getting repairs. Caltrans lists a $1.5 million maintenance project (opens in a new tab) on eight I-10 bridges between Ontario and San Bernardino. It expects the work to be done by fall 2026. Crews work overnight, closing lanes, ramps, connectors or shoulders as needed. At night, a work zone can be hard to see until you are close. Slow down at the first cone or flashing arrow board, and merge early.

Downtown Ontario centers on Euclid Avenue and Holt Boulevard. The city's climate grant plans (opens in a new tab) for that area include new crosswalks on both streets. They also include a 5-mile bike and walking path on Mission Boulevard and a downtown mobility hub for bike riders. More crosswalks mean more people crossing busy streets. Slow down as you near a marked crosswalk. If a car ahead stops at a crosswalk, do not go around it.
