Learning to drive in Moreno Valley: SR 60 interchanges and sharing the road with bikes

State Route 60 runs through Moreno Valley, and its interchanges keep changing. The city replaced the Moreno Beach Drive bridge (opens in a new tab) over SR 60, going from two lanes to seven. The north side now has a cloverleaf ramp and a direct southbound on-ramp to westbound SR 60. The city, working with Caltrans, also plans to rebuild the World Logistics Center Parkway interchange (opens in a new tab). New ramp layouts can catch you off guard. Read the overhead signs early and choose your lane before the ramp.

Bike riders share many Moreno Valley streets. The city's bicycle safety page (opens in a new tab) tells drivers to slow down near riders and leave at least 3 feet when passing. It notes that a rider may take a full lane when there is no bike lane and too little room to pass. It also warns that children on bikes may not ride predictably. Look for riders before you pull out of a driveway. Check behind you before opening your door, and never honk near a rider.
