Learning to drive in Menifee: new bridges over I-215 and Salt Creek

Interstate 215 splits Menifee, and new crossings are changing how people get across. The Holland Road Overpass (opens in a new tab) opened in October 2024 with four lanes between Antelope Road and Haun Road. It has bike lanes and sidewalks both ways, plus new signals at Haun Road and Hanover Lane. Caltrans and the city are also studying a rebuilt McCall Boulevard interchange (opens in a new tab) with a bike and neighborhood electric vehicle lane. Expect bikes on new bridges. Pass a rider only when the next lane is clear.

In late September 2026, Menifee opened the Freedom Bridge (opens in a new tab) on Bradley Road over Salt Creek. The city says the bridge ends a history of drivers going through moving water during storms. The National Weather Service warns that 12 inches of rushing water (opens in a new tab) can carry away most cars. The road under the water may also be washed out. Never drive into a flooded road, even one you know well. Turn around and find another route.
